TV Post!

So I'm slowly getting back into TV. And then after that, maybe I'll get into movies again, or video games. I miss stories. (Getting back into) Reading is a slow process, but it's at a pace I'm accepting for now. Podcasts are another story.

I'm just going to ramble about some shows now, the things I'm watching and such. I have to catch up on Burn Notice this weekend and next up are Happy Endings and Man Up because it's faster to binge 30 minute shows!

I gave up on Suburgatory. I like it, but when I was collecting links to download on Friday I went, "It's not THAT important," and clicked out of the post. I'm having more fun with the other shows.

I haven't watched the newest Hung yet, but that show keeps getting better, too. HBO, YOU'RE ON POINT. At least, with my shows. I hear Boardwalk Empire is getting even more bland than it used to be.

In other news, I know I tend to get into cycles where I'm like, "I WISH I KNEW A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT. I'M GONNA LEARN AN INSTRUMENT. INSTRUMENTS ARE EXPENSIVE. I HAVE A KEYBOARD. FUCK IT, MY FINGERS DON'T WORK THAT WAY. MUSIC IS HARD." But guys, OCARINAS. With my new phone I was able to download an Ocarina app. But it doesn't work properly (you can't play a D note, says one comment on the Marketplace... I just know I can't get a higher note than C) so I decided to price real ones. I won't buy a ceramic one because lololol I am a clumsy person who will break that shit eventually. And also, wouldn't it get nasty, being a wind instrument? I remember the recorder from freshman year of high school getting disgusting with my spit. I don't even know if I'm going to buy that particular brand--apparently there are lots of ocarina makers? Anyway, I figure plastic ones are decent enough. And it's geeky enough that I'd stick with it just for the geek factor, if not the musical accomplishment. WE SHALL SEE.

Bored to Death was okay. I liked last week's episode better, although Jenny Slate's character is adorable. And Brothers and Sisters is boring me.

I have downloaded three different links to Big Bang Theory and none have worked or converted correctly so FU, internet overlords, I will watch it whenever I find a streaming version. Back to Professor Layton, wooooo.

I don't know what to do with Brothers & Sisters anymore. I guess I'm glad Ryan isn't around that much anymore. Also, Scotty = <33333333

I miss Chuck on Mondays. I didn't think I would but the last two Mondays seemed so short when I only had CBS comedies to watch after Dancing with the Stars. :/

I did a few Kanye memes yesterday and two of them seem to be finding their way around Tumblr and a few others are garnering comments on an LJ comm and it's making my day.

Also Tumblr people keep posting pictures of Evan Rachel Wood from various phases of her life and her version of "It Won't Be Long" has been stuck in my head all day. I've never really had an opinion on her, but her voice is lovely.

There's so much I want to do this week (see Taking Woodstock finally before it disappears! See The Final Destination with sis! Finish the five things I have going on! Re-stock various supplies! Research new job direction! Clean!) but so little time. Arghhhh.

An Open Letter to Eric Kripke

I couldn't have said it better myself, really. I'm usually one to completely miss these things on my tv shows but for some reason Supernatural makes it super-obvious and it really is my only gripe about the show (I mean, it's on CW but that's not really an excuse).

In other news, I will be listening to this for the rest of the day.

So I'm planning out this girl!crush spam, right? But it's so difficult because apparently I can't figure out what the definition of a girl!crush is. Generally it's "girls I'd go gay for" or "girls I want to be/be friends with so bad".

But the thing is, with me, as is the case with the male celebrities, there's the people I champion like no tomorrow, there's the ones that I'm totally shallow about and then there's the ones I go see movies for just to support them because I'm a fan of their work elsewhere, but don't really champion them. I always have different levels of attraction and they mostly overlap and I want to represent all of them but I can never get everyone into the right genre or theme or what have you. I will prevail! I just... need to think about it. Picspams are serious business, apparently.

Anyway, I figured I might as well talk about TV. There's other things I wanted to mention but my time is not my own this week, clearly. Tomorrow I plan on hightailing it to the New York Public Library because 1) I don't think I've ever been there and 2) I just need OUT. I doubt there's wi-fi there (and I'm hoping there's tables and outlets to use) so it'll give me an excuse to just write the whole day with no distractions whatsoever. If it goes well that might be my twice-a-week spot for this "semester".

Also IFC was playing R. Kelley's Trapped in the Closet the other day. What the hell, it's neither indie nor a film! Anyway, I watched it because I'd only ever seen chapters 1-3 and it was 3am and I wasn't sleepy yet. YOU GUYS. I don't think soap operas are that soapy. Plus, after 22 chapters it still ended on a to be continued! WHAT THE HELL.

P.S. Yesterday I saw a bus with a Bored to Death ad plastered on the side and it made my day. MLIA

Last night I was alerted to the fact that Bored to Death was filming today/yesterday in Brighton Beach, so after much debating this morning I decided to go see if I could catch a glimpse of anything. I didn't, although a pair of pigeons got freaky under the boardwalk in front of me. I guess the whole sex on the beach thing isn't just for humans.

I got some ideas for summer jobs after over-hearing some extras who sat next to me on the beach, so the day wasn't a complete loss. And thanks to Cesar Millan's "Official Twitter" I'm researching drummers who have French bulldogs with social problems, because what are the odds of that combination?
