Oscars '08
Feb. 25th, 2008 02:27 pmOSCARS. Best ever. I honestly didn't think Marion would even have a shot at it. I had a flail attack right there on the sofa when they said her name. AND JAVIER TOO. *points at icon* Dude, Russell Crowe took it last time, so I was so hoping it'd be Javier's night last night. And it was.
I haven't seen No Country For Old Men, so I can't be too sure but I think that movie going all Eastwood vs. Scorcese in '05 on Atonement was awesome if not a bit much. Atonement is my new Titanic, I think. I really could care less. But I did feel for There Will Be Blood. I haven't seen that one either, but the Coens just swept all over that movie too.
I didn't really see any ... moments? Except for Javier's random half speech in Spanish but that's because Jon Stewart brought everyone's attention to it and then everyone re-wound to listen harder. And Jon Stewart... was better last time around, I think. Although he did give that girl from Once her time to shine, which I thought was cool. And speaking of music, which I wasn't, who decided Chenobitch was invited?
And of course, Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill. They are my life. (Random fact: Justin Long is older than Seth Rogen, Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill. It just doesn't compute.)
They didn't mention Brad Renfo in the memoriam thing, which got me a bit sad. But I will say that I caught myself last night going, "I wonder if Heath Ledger's going, or Christian Bale." I never liked him much, but I just got used to the guy randomly being at events like that. :(
And I didn't post my choices this year, but I was tallying the scores for the Totally Rad Show, me and Entertainment Weekly. And EW and I got 10 correct, and Alex tied with Dan-- even though Alex had an early lead. After every award, I was telling my dad, "Dad! Alex is winning!" Like anyone but me cares, but I was having fun, haha.

P.S. Someone is driving by my house playing Mika's "Relax." SCORE.
